Lindsey and Ryan are very special friends of ours which made it such a great day and memory. Lindsey made such a beautiful and calm bride. Her elegant stature was met so perfectly with her dress and the decor which they chose was classic yet a little rustic. Everything about the wedding and decor made me oodle with photographic excitement. There is something about the Western Cape which just makes photographing such a dream.
A big thanks to Cliff at Alexander Photography for allowing me to photograph this couple. The wedding was held at Mofam, in Elgin, but it felt like we were in the middle of the Alps with the mountains and trees surrounding us.
Lindsey arrived on a barge that she travelled on while Ryan and the guests waited for her. I love the build up to that first view they have of eachother. In this case, Lindsey and Ryan had about 5 minutes to see eachother from across the dam, and in this time, emotions were high between Lindsey, her dad and bridesmaids. It really was a special moment. I’m sure Ryan felt the same way as he waited for her.
From the moment she met with Ryan, it was magic. Sparks were flying and they had the longest kiss when it came to “you may kiss the bride”.
A wonderful evening followed, with great speeches done by Dirk, Lindsey’s dad and Ryan. In true Ryan McCormick style, the beers were rolling, the music high and a bride and groom that didn’t want to leave their party even at 4oclock! :)
