“How is it possible?” I used to ask myself, when watching new parents with their newborn babies. They just know what to do, they’re calm and collected, and they’re in love.
Then, I had my baby. This is when I understood.
New parents don’t really know what we’re doing, but we do the best we can.
We’re not really calm and collected – we’re tired, a bit over whelmed and just coping.
But, we are in love with our newborn bundles. I can’t explain it – they creep into our hearts and make our hearts explode with love, joy and contentment. This makes it easier to cope with the other stuff, and although newborns create a cloudy haze around our sleep deprived heads, we are just so in love with our new creation.
This is what I get to see and understand when photographing newborns. I love the joy on new moms and dads faces as they boast about their new addition, and the pure love they show me and my camera while they interact with their baby.
