Magical Wedding at Shepstone Gardens

The first time Michelle contacted me, I was so flattered by her email. All the elements that I want to show in my photography she loved and this made me so excited to meet her. When I met her, it made me even more excited to photograph her wedding! A gorgeous, blonde, slim beauty walked in and I knew what great shots we’d get. Her personality is bubbly, vibrant and friendly. She told me about her wedding and the decor and something a little different was that she was going to be wearing a black wedding dress. She said it was not because she wanted it to be a ‘goth’ wedding, but because she just looks better in black rather than white. She did some research into wedding dresses, and apparently wearing white did not become a popular option until 1840, after the marriage of Queen Victoria to Albert of Saxe-Coburg and then women started to follow this trend. Before this, brides wore all sorts of colours to show off their wealth. Since Michelle and Lawrence’s theme was vintage and had styling from the Victorian age, it was very well suited.
