Anje & Ricardo’s Wedding, DIY,Candles & Purple Jacarandas,Pretoria

Anje is one of the most beautiful woman I have met. She is so creative, and most of her wedding was DIY. I love DIY weddings. It is so personal and true to the couple. She is also a blogger (find her link here) and finds such creative and different buys or DIYs to blog about. Her flower crown & bouquets were made by herself, the woodwork on the table settings were crafted by her and Ricardo. Such simplicity is so affective & naturally beautiful! Check out their awesome cake!! I could totally devour that cake in a few minutes ;)

Can I just give a shout out to Anje and Ric for being brave & bold enough to break tradition and have a “first look” photo shoot session. This is when you meet up before the ceremony to do your couple shoot. OH MY WORD!!! It is just so romantic to watch and capture (and be a fly on the wall) while the two are united and see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Noone else is around, except the two of you to soak up that moment when you first see each other looking so gorgeous! :)

We then went to the “famous” Jacaranda street in Pretoria to do their shoot before the ceremony.

They also broke the “norm” of exchanging rings, and had their rings tattooed on their fingers. The “ring ceremony” instead encompassed all their guests, by passing around a string and then tying it around Anje and Ric’s hand. This symbolised how everyone there had a part to play in their relationship, past, present and future. It really was something very special!

I just love Al fresco dining, and this is exactly what they had, with starry lights above them and lots of candles to light up the tables. So pretty!!

We had next to perfect weather most of the day (and evening) and as they opened the dance floor, the heavens opened up with a true Highveld thunder storm. Luckily supper was had, and the dance floor was undercover, so the party continued and everyone just moved inside :)

Venue: Duncan Yard, Papas Restaurant Pretoria

Anje, your wedding was something exquisite! Julle is pragtige mense en daar is duidelik geen tekort aan kreatiwiteit tussen julle nie. Mag julle mekaar enduit gelukkig maak!
